RUTA DE LA AMISTAD. Mexico 68.

Insurgentes Cuicuilco, Coyoacán, 04500 Mexico City

Liminal Visualizers / Visualizadores Liminales is a public, interactive intervention, designed by Eugene Ahn (USA/Korea) and Durden and Ray, Los Angeles member, Ismael de Anda III (USA/Mexico), featuring augmented reality apps that can be found at three sculptures as part of the historic La Ruta de la Amistad -a series of 22 monumental sculptures created for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico, City.

The interactive augmented reality apps provide a creative or disruptive intervening, an act of embellishment or a possibly cathartic engagement, considering altruistic gestures and the potential undoing of problematic histories, toward the potential for a sustainable, dynamic space for social solidarity and artistic inspiration.

At selected sculptural sites throughout La Ruta, participants will engage QR codes on their smartphones to activate interactive augmented reality apps in play and co-habitation with the featured sculptures; considering the endemic flowers, volcanic rock, and floating gardens of the region.
