“Translocal Conclave Amid the Market” is a group exhibition exploring the connections and differences in artistic processes among artists from Los Angeles and Belgrade.

The exhibition investigates whether decentralized cultural spaces—closer to the public and distant from elite circles—can truly bridge social divides and engage a broader community. Translocality, as applied here, refers to a range of ongoing, open, and non-linear processes that foster close ties among different locations and populations. It encompasses both voluntary and forced migrations and can serve as a tool for resistance, emancipation, and the transformation of societal norms. Furthermore, translocalism can facilitate the creation of new spaces for agency, solidarity, and reflection.
